Showing Up. Listening. Getting Things Done.

People are working harder than ever and still struggling to get by. Sara has spent her career closing the gap between the help people need and what they can actually access. That experience shapes how she leads: by listening, staying accessible, and following through.

MeetSARA AGERTON

Sara Agerton grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania. Her dad was a welder, and her mom stayed home to care for her, and they taught Sara that nothing mattered more than your community and lifting up the people who create it.

That upbringing led Sara to a twenty-year career in social work, from helping children in the foster care system to serving patients in end-of-life hospice care. She has been there with people at their worst and their best, and she has learned something along the way: you can be a perfect social worker every day and still fail because of the system.

That's what drives her. Sara ran for Mechanicsburg Borough Council and won, as the only Democrat and on council, and over four years, she delivered: long-overdue road improvements, a booming downtown, support for small businesses, and new green spaces for the community. Mechanicsburg is moving forward, and people can feel it.

Now Sara is running for State House to bring that same approach to the 88th District. Lowering costs. Strengthening communities. Making sure people can get ahead and stay there. When someone calls her for help, she answers. That won't change.

Where Sara Stands

TheISSUES THAT MATTER

Real priorities from someone who has listened to the 88th District for years.

Healthcare

Sara has spent her career in healthcare — from working with vulnerable kids to administering end-of-life hospice care. She knows what it looks like when the system fails people at their most vulnerable. No one should have to choose between paying bills and getting the care they need. Sara is focused on lowering costs, expanding access, and making sure patients come first.

Cost of Living

Sara grew up in a blue-collar family — her dad was a welder and worked his way up without a college degree. She knows how hard folks are working these days, but even with hard work, getting ahead is not guaranteed. Sara is committed to lowering everyday expenses, supporting fair wages, and making sure hard work actually pays off.

Education

Sara spent the early years of her career working with kids in foster care — children whose education was disrupted along with everything else. She knows that a child's zip code should never determine their opportunities. Sara supports investing in public schools, backing teachers, and making sure every student has access to a high-quality education.

Housing

As a leader on local housing issues and in her work as a social worker, Sara has seen the impacts of the affordable housing crisis. She is focused on expanding affordable options and supporting responsible growth so that the communities people call home stay that way.

Environment

Everyone deserves clean air, safe water, and healthy communities. Sara supports practical, forward-looking solutions that protect the environment while creating jobs and strengthening long-term sustainability.
